Truck driver, Job ID: 0117, Saskatchewan
A company that offers a variety of services including excavating, trenching, sewer, water, concrete pumping, and specialized in crushing and screening of all gravel products, municipal and oil lease gravelling and ready mixed concrete, is currently looking for experienced short haul truck drivers.
Competencies required
3-5 years, short haul driving experience of heavy trucks in mining, oil or construction
Fluent English is required
Equivalent class 3 license is required
Preference to candidates with experience driving in winter conditions
Prefer candidates with mechanical experience
Is physically in good condition
Good references required - demonstrating commitment to the job and a positive attitude
Company offers
Employer offers 50+ hours per week minimum, overtime to a maximum of 70 hours per week.
Salary: $20.19 per hour for the first two weeks of training. The drivers, once trained, are paid on a cost per load - and can expect to make $300+ per day and up to $400 per day (average $27 to $40 per hour). Pay is based on load type & distance.
TARGET SALARY $66,000+ per year and only working 10 to 10 ½ months per year.
Employees get 6-8 weeks off work each spring, during 'break up' time (slow season)
Accommodation is provided by the employer, paid by the candidate.

Must have good English and communication skills
Flight cost is covered by the employer.
Employer is seeking candidates that want a long term commitment.
Key responsibilities
As a short haul driver, there will be no overnight trips and no interprovincial travel.
A driver is going to be in and out of the truck many times each day, mixing slurry and always ensuring that he is checking the truck prior to operating
Basic maintenance and similar other duties, may be requested from time to time.
Drivers will work as single drivers
