Canada Painters - Decorators

Canadian construction companies are currently looking for painter/decorators to work in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Competencies required
Age: 22 - 45
1 year of work experience in a commercial painting or decorating environment

Conversational English (an applicant should be capable to handle the interview with the employer without an interpreter)

Company offers
40 working hours per week
Salary: starting with $17 CAD/hour, overtime is paid 1.5 higher
Accommodation is provided by the employer, is paid by the candidate

Key responsibilities

Determine the quantity of materials needed for a specific project using surface measurements or by interpreting drawing specifications.

Erect scaffolding, cradles, and ladders as required.

Remove old paint or wallpaper using such techniques as sanding, scraping, blowtorches, liquid paint removers, hydro-blasting or steam strippers.

Prepare surfaces by repairing woodwork, filling or sealing holes, cracks and joints and by washing surfaces to remove dust and grease.

Select and prepare paints as per project specifications.

Brush, roll, or spray the paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, fibreglass, metal coating, fire retardant or other finishes.

When wallpapering, cut wallpaper to ensure the matching of patterns and hang wallpaper.

Apply decorative paint finishes such as stencils, colour glaze, graining, marbling and lettering.

Maintain records, document actions and present reports as required by the owner.

Complete other duties as assigned by the employer.
