Competencies required

3 year of work experience in floor covering installing, 1 year official and verifiable experience

Conversational English (an applicant should be capable to handle the interview with the employer without an interpreter). IELTS certificate, level General 4.5 is required

 

Company offers

40 working hours per week

Salary: starting with $3200 CAD/month, overtime is paid 1.5 higher

Accommodations are provided by the employer, but paid by the candidate

Key responsibilities

Inspecting, measuring and marking surfaces to be covered

Measuring, cutting and fastening underlay

Measuring, cutting and installing carpeting using hand or machine stitcher, seaming iron, bonding tape or other bonding materials

Stretching carpet using knee-kicker or power stretcher

Measuring, cutting and installing resilient floor covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools

Installing hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails or other means

Inspecting and repairing damaged floor coverings
