Petro tells about his impressions of the internship program on the farm in Sweden.

My name is Petro, for 3 years I'd worked as a school teacher in Vistria village, Ternopil region, where I'm from.  I have been dreaming to go abroad for ages and now this dream has come true. Now I work in Hedemora town in Sweden (250 km from Stockholm). In my opinion this country is really wonderful. You can obtain not only money there, but high level of patriotism, culture, order and honesty

I learned about ILC Company through my mother and I'm very grateful to her for this. Son of my mother's colleague went to Canada under the assistance of ILC and she recommended contacting you. First I applied to the position of a waiter in Canada but I couldn't participate in this program because of the lack of the necessary work experience. I had some experience in agricultural sector and it helped me to get on the internship program presentation.   I had so perfect confidence in obtaining a job that in my mind I had been already in Sweden, but still I had to pass two interviews. Both of them I passed successfully. 

Work on the farm and relations with the colleagues

I work as an assistant for a very good farmer. It is safe to say that I've been into luck to work with him. We have come to an understanding with each other quickly. The main activity of the enterprise is strawberry and potatoes growing. I perform different duties but it is easy for me because I'm from the village. It is the strawberry season now so we pick berries in the morning and in daytime. After Ukraine it is like an earthly paradise there - nice people, good work conditions, clean environment, high technologies. All of this leads to good result. 

I was able to adapt in Sweden easy enough due to the self-belief and my family support. It is the most important thing. A good level of English and desire to work is not least important.  Most of all I'm impressed of people's openness and honesty, the feeling is like it is the other planet. The climate is similar to ours, maybe, it is some colder here. 

Free time and rest

I have had a chance to see a lot of interesting amazing historic sites here. The work is not very difficult, of course, it is possible to find thousands reasons for complaints, but in fact it's quite simple. The main thing is to perform your duties and to think about your work not about money and everything will be all right. On weekends we relax on the lake and cycle together with our friends.

It is my first job abroad that's why I don't think about serious purchases. I just want to get some money for living and to support my parents. Our health comes before everything. I hope to continue working here but time will tell. I recommend everyone to participate in the internship program in Sweden. If you wish to work honestly, obtain some experience and earnings, - then Sweden is the best choice for you. My advice is never let nobody to say that it is nothing doing. If you have a dream you must protect it. People who can't do something will convince that you can't either but don't let it get you down, believe in yourself! Good luck!
