Previous job experience and acquaintance with ILC

My name is Natalia, I am currently living and working at Red Deer, Canada. I was born in Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region. I studied at Kyiv National Agrarian University. For the period of my studies I visited England twice to work at strawberry and mushroom farms. At that time I wanted to go to Canada.  When I come back to Ukraine I got married and gave birth to my son. In Ukraine I worked as a manager of dairy farm.

I got to know about ILC from my sister who visited England to work at mushroom farm. I was looking through the news of the company and when I got to know about the vacancy in Canada I decided to try my fortune. I got enough experience on physically demanding position while I was working abroad and I have not been afraid of heavy work. The main thing here is to believe in yourself and know English. The company is very reliable; it assists to process all the documents.

I am currently employed at the meat-processing plant. I perform a variety of duties: mostly packing that is a kind of easy work. I like my job, my supervisor and team-members very much. Ukrainians are respected here. The working environment is good, everything is clean. I am glad that I have an opportunity to work here.

First days in Canada

My first days in Canada were amazing. We had a safe trip and were met by the ILC representative who brought us to the hotel. Next day we had an excursion to the Niagara Falls. I was really impressed and made many pictures. Life in Canada differs from the one in Ukraine, people are benevolent, smiling and curious. The most astonishing thing for me was the absence of pedestrians as everybody has a car here.

My job at the meat-processing plant and my life in Red Deer town

Nowadays I live in a small cozy town named Red Deer. The adaptation was easy for me. I had no particular difficulties. I like my job as the attitude towards employees is good enough. There is good chance for career progress if you work duly. We work from 6 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Sometimes we can work overtime. After work we have broad opportunities to study English and have a rest. There are many gyms, pools and places for entertainment.  In winter there is a skating rink in the park. All who are keen on skating attend it as it is an amusing place. The nature in Canada is very picturesque; it is similar to Ukrainian one. There are rivers and lakes. Life is stable here, nobody is in a hurry and people are very hospitable. There is such a great variety of wild animals: bears, moose and deer ... so many poultry.  Those who live here during 5-7 years are going to hunting or fishing. Everything is made for comfortable and pleasant life.

I miss Ukraine a little but it is not a big deal.  I think I will visit my relatives when I get my permanent residence. The opportunities in Canada are greater and it is easier to make future plans here.

I recommend you to go to Canada, you will not regret as you receive much experience.  I am thankful to ILC for processing of documents.  In Canada I feel confident about my future. I wish success and persistence to all the participants. Everything will be great. Study English.
