Truck driver

Competencies required

3-5 years, full time articulated truck driving experience

Fluent English is required

Equivalent class 1A license is required

Preference to candidates with experience driving in winter conditions

Prefer candidates with mechanical experience

Can connect and disconnect trailer coupler and hitch

Good references required - demonstrating commitment to the job and a positive attitude

 

Company offers

Employer offers 40 hours per week, plus overtime to a maximum of 70 hours per week.

Salary: $40,768 per year paid based on km travel, load type & distance. Earn $10,000 to $18,000 over base salary with bonuses allotted for being efficient and good performance.

Accommodation is provided by the employer, paid be the candidate.

Health insurance and other benefits.

Drivers will work as single drivers.

Flight cost is covered by the employer.

 

Key responsibilities

As a long haul driver, there will be overnight trips and interprovincial travel.

A driver can be required to do 'red fleet' driving which involves a lot more stopping and delivery of product to retailers within a 500km radius, which also may involve interprovincial travel and some overnights.

Mechanical repair and similar other duties, may be requested from time to time.
