From March 26 to April 6, ILC partnered with Canadian immigration consultant Walter Garchinski to conduct immigration seminars in seven different Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk). The seminars were focused on information related to the opportunity for tradespeople to immigrate to Saskatchewan. This was the first time that ILC arranged these types of event and was an important communication tool to inform Ukrainians about the "do's and don'ts" in the immigration process.
Additional seminars were organized in both Lviv and Kyiv due to participant demand. The largest number of seminar participants came in Sumy with 176 people attending the function. In total, over 750 people attended the seminars.
All participants had the opportunity to share their feedback on the seminar. Here is what some participants said:
«My husband and I liked the seminar because we found out a lot of new facts that we didn't know before. It was useful to know that Saskatchewan is in need of tradespeople», Mariya Kopey said.
Dmytro Anokhin, a construction worker from Lugansk, told us why he is interested in immigrating: «I started thinking about immigrating to Canada six months ago when I have found out about your company. I think that the standards of living abroad are higher and opportunities are greater. I am looking for a better future for my family.»
The seminars were attended by mostly construction workers and carpenters, welders, general operatives and other tradespeople. However the information was interesting and useful also for other professionals. Throughout the seminars, participants had the opportunity to ask more specific questions to Walter Garchinski or ILC representatives if their questions weren't already answered during the presentation. The participants also had an opportunity to do individual consultations with Walter Garchinski.
ILC and Walter Garchinski also gave out some prizes to seminar participants such as: a certificate for private Skype English lessons, a consultation with Walter, and free documents translation.
ILC sincerely thanks all seminars participants for their interest as well as all partners for assistance in the event organization.
