The International Labour Centre and SIAST (Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology) began collaboration in 2009, under the Skills Passport Program.  The objective of the Program is to address Canada's current and future skilled labour shortages through the development of an effective overseas skills recognition program.  Through this collaboration, the program is currently offering assessments in Welding and English Language, with additional occupations to be added in the future.
