PROVIDING COMPANIES WITH LABOUR MARKET SOLUTIONS. PROVIDING PEOPLE WITH LIFE OPPORTUNITIES

Alec from Ireland tells about floorhand job in Canada.

"I find my job very interesting and each day is a school day that I like. There is always something new to learn."

I have worked as a carpenter about 22 years in Ireland and USA. After that experience I worked some years in the oil sector as a driller. I decided to move 2 years ago and try something new. Now I am currently working as a floorhand in Canada.

I found this job at the national jobs website and decided to apply. ILC's agent in Ireland was contacting me about the job and informed what it might entail. Then he sent my details to ILC Canada office who interviewed me on Skype. After that I also had an interview with my employer. In general, I would say the whole process was unstressful.

ILC organized everything for my trip. My employer arranged transportation and accommodation for me. At the airport Iryna, General Manager of ILC Canada, and Richard from my employer company met me.

After arriving I got great safety training on the job. It was on the high level. There are some differences in my job responsibilities here but nothing special except weather that is really cold.

In my opinion I integrated to a new life in a new country successfully. Everything has been seamless and with no major obstacles. I find my job very interesting and each day is a school day that I like. There is always something new to learn.

I am happy to try this opportunity and enjoy my life in Canada. I recommend for everybody to go to Canada.
